The Launching Ceremony of the Health and Wellness Tourism Training Program Conducted by GLTU & LCB Brunei-China International Tourism Talent Training Center

On May 17th, 2022, the launching ceremony of the Health and Wellness Tourism Training Program was officially conducted by GLTU & LCB Brunei-China International Tourism Talent Training Center in the lecture hall of Guilin Tourism University, and the branch in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei, was held online simultaneously. The participants in GLTU include relevant leaders from the International Exchange & Cooperation Department, the School of Leisure and Health,and the School of Culture and Communication, as well as representatives of faculty. At the same time, Ms. Bogusia Mischke, Director of Academic Studies and Cooperation of Laksamana College of Business, Ms. Michelle Lee, Director of Public Relations Office and more than 30 students attended the online ceremony.

Mr. LI Rong, Deputy Director of the International Exchange & Cooperation Department, delivered a speech on behalf of the host, and introduced the achievements of the training, research and study exchanges carried out by the center since 2021. He said that GLTU sees the center as a platform, hoping to cultivate more Chinese tourism talents for Brunei, to help the recovery of tourism between both countries in the post-pandemic period.


Ms. Wang Yujuan, Dean of the School of Culture and Communication, said that cultural exchanges and people-to-people bonds are crucial ways to jointly build a better world. The program will carry out various forms of courses about the Chinese culture, so that students can learn Chinese with tourism knowledge and learn about China with health and wellness culture. Ms. Bogusia Mischke encouraged the trainees to achieve self-improvement and promote the development of health and wellness tourism in Brunei.

 

This program has received strong support from the Center for Language Education and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education. It focuses on Learning Chinese in Tourism, Knowing Chinese through Health and Wellness, and the training and exchange activities for Brunei and ASEAN students will be conducted in the following three yearsThat includes tourism Chinese, Chinese cuisine, Chinese medicinal food, health and wellness tourism, tourism academic lectures, study exchanges, etc.

 

After the launching ceremony, Ms. Bai Xue, a lecturer from the School of Culture and Communication, and Ms. Jiang Yanyan, a lecturer from the International Exchange & Cooperation Department, deliver a lecture to the students from Brunei.
